I normally try to keep this blog on the light side, but the outcome of last week’s recall election has had me down a bit. It’s difficult to fathom why people vote the way they do; I’m sure that brainwashing by millions of dollars worth of Republican propaganda doesn’t help. Instead of complaining about it and getting even more down, I simply want to show some pictures of one of the more enjoyable aspects of the past year — the Solidarity Singers. This group has been singing in the Capitol Rotunda or outside the Capitol every weekday since the protests began in February 2011.
All the photos below were taken on election day, June 5, as the Solidarity Singers, joined by many of the faithful, loudly and joyously sang their songs of protest against Governor Walker.
I guess it’s hard for a couple hundred dedicated singers to combat $27 million in mostly out-of-state money.
