After a long, dry summer the rain finally returned. Last Sunday, although the weather was warm and sunny, we ended up having a surprise shower. A wedding shower, that is. It was for Matthew and his wonderful bride-to-be Lisa Kothe. With Matthew and Lisa planning to wed on 12/12/12, Kathy and her sisters Jan and Mare could not pass up the opportunity to have a wedding shower for them. It had to be a surprise, of course. So, while I took the happy couple for a hike, relatives descended upon our house to ready it for the event. When we returned Lisa was surprised to find herself amidst future family members. Matthew was in on the surprise and he was already related to these people so it was not as exciting for him.
This was a modern shower so the men had to attend, I mean even the men were invited!! There was food, party games, food, gifts, and food. A great time was had by all and I think that Lisa survived with her wits intact. We all look forward to her being a part of the family.
