I liked playing soft ball when I was a kid and in 9th grade I ran the hurdles on the track team, but I haven’t really gotten into some of the new sports. When I saw the picture below that Matthew recently posted on his Facebook page I understood why. Even if I had the wherewithal to participate in such an event, I’m not sure that I could afford the cost of laundering my uniform!
This is an event called the Warrior Dash and it’s held at quite a few locations around the country. Matthew and several of his friends from work participated in the Warrior Dash held last Saturday in Crawfordsville, Indiana. It’s basically a 3-mile long obstacle course with walls to climb, fires to jump, and a mud pit with barbed wire above that forces you to get down-and-dirty in order to pass.
After seeing this I’ll have to admit that my bike rides and walks around the block seem pretty tame.
Note: As of July 30th, 2019 Warrior Dash has announced they are ceasing operations.
