I wrote this song a few days before Christmas in 2008. After listening to mostly unheard-of holiday songs on a local rock station all day, I wondered why anyone would even bother to write another Christmas song.
That night I woke up with this song going through my head. I quickly wrote down the lyrics to verse 1 and notes about how verses 2 and 3 should go. Then I ran down to the computer and recorded the melody so I wouldn’t forget it. The next morning after breakfast I finished writing the song and made this recording. Listen to this Song |
1. Oh, what can I say about Christmas That hasn’t all been said before? There are so many songs of the season. We surely don’t need anymore. But it always makes me feel like singing; There must be something in the air, Like snowflakes and silver bells ringing, And being with people who care That we all get together to share All the wonderful things about Christmas. 2. Oh, what can I say about Christmas 3. Oh, what can I say about Christmas (Repeat Verse 1) |
